The owner of the apartment has been living between Hong Kong and London for the last 20 years. When he is in Kyiv, he stays in his private apartment in the city center on Bolshaya Zhytomyrskaya street.
An old building, ceilings about 4 meters high and a picturesque view over historical streets make this apartment feel aristocratic and high status. Our goal was to create maximum comfort, like in a good hotel, but with some accents to reflect the owner’s personality. We decided to emphasize the emotional intelligence.

We had to rethink the compact internal layout, which we had initially, to add more free space to the flat. We transformed four quite small rooms and a kitchen and got a combined kitchen and living room space, an individual cabinet which can be used as a guest bedroom, and a spacious master bedroom with its own bathroom in it.

The interior kept some classical elements like gypsum moldings which belonged there from the beginning. We added some furniture and décor of traditional English style and integrated some impressive Japanese details like barrels from sake instead of bedside tables.
